Meet Audra Hawkins, Ed.S., LPC, NCC, CPCS

Hawk's Nest Counseling, where therapy takes root.

Welcome — I’m Audra, and I’m so glad you’re here.
Hawk’s Nest Counseling was born from a dream: to create a safe, healing space where therapy and nature could come together. Since 2019, my family and I have been bringing that vision to life on our farm in Lula — a place where we raise animals, grow food, and reconnect with nature. Our 11-acre farm isn’t just home — it’s also a part of the therapy process. Here, counseling sessions may take place under the trees, beside a garden, or while visiting with our beloved animals, including dwarf goats, chickens, cows, mini-pigs, and my therapy dog, Lugz. Nature offers calm, perspective, and grounding — and many clients find that the serene setting brings a sense of peace that traditional office spaces can’t match.

A bit about my background:
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor (CPCS). I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from NC State, a Master’s in School Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University, and a Specialist degree in Counseling from the University of West Alabama.
Since 1996, I’ve worked in education and mental health, with over 20 years of experience as a counselor. I work with clients of all ages, with a particular focus on adolescents, anxiety, adjustment disorders, school-related concerns, and parenting support.

My approach:
I’m grounded in behavioral theory and draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also use Written Exposure Therapy (WET) for clients healing from trauma, and the Gottman Method for couples navigating communication and relationship challenges. I believe strongly in the power of practical tools — helping you understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so you can take real steps toward change.
At Hawk’s Nest Counseling, you’re not just stepping into a session — you’re stepping into a space designed to help you breathe a little deeper, reflect more clearly, and reconnect with what matters.
Whether you're a teen navigating big transitions or a parent seeking support, I’m here to walk with you — gently, purposefully, and without judgment.
