I’m Erica and I’m so grateful you’re here! I graduated from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and from the University of Georgia with a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as an Advocate for victims/survivors of sexual trauma at a non-profit sexual assault center. I continue to provide trauma focused individual and group therapy there, when I am not seeing clients with Hawk’s Nest Counseling. I have an integrative and holistic approach to therapy, utilizing a variety of techniques to help clients move forward on their healing journey. My approach is trauma informed, person centered, and strengths based, often incorporating expressive arts, play, movement and somatic interventions including yoga, Brainspotting, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into our sessions together. I have experience working with adolescents and adults with a variety of concerns including complex trauma, self-harm, anxiety, depression, and navigating life changes. I have specialized training/experience in perinatal mental health (pregnancy, birth and postpartum), supporting individuals with experiences of sexual trauma, and first responders/military. I look forward to supporting you on your journey!

Erica offers ongoing therapy as well as EMDR Intensives.

What are EMDR Intensives?

Traditional 50 minute therapy sessions can be limiting when using EMDR to work through a memory/memories. Intensives extend the length of the therapy session so a client can have an “intense” focus on an issue to resolve it more quickly.

Intensives can focus on a particular issue that a client wants to resolve (for example, a car accident or birth trauma) or can be focused on more complex issues such as PTSD, complex trauma, dissociative disorders, or attachment issues. Like weekly therapy, the more complex the issue, the more time may be needed to work through the experiences.

Intensives work best for clients who are highly motivated, feel ready to work through a challenging experience quickly, and have adequate support outside of the session. Intensives can also be a good alternative for individuals whose schedules do not allow for the traditional 1 hour per week therapy session. Scheduling a one day intensive or a monthly half day intensive may be a better fit.

Options for EMDR Intensives with Erica include:

$550 for a Half Day Intensive: This therapeutic experience focuses on going through the phases of EMDR. The cost includes a separate 2-hour intake session prior to the Intensive and a 30-minute integration check in call following the Intensive. Half day intensives are typically scheduled for 4 hours, depending on the needs of the client. In total, this package includes 6+ hours of therapy services. $150 is due at the intake session and the remaining $400 is due on the day of the scheduled intensive.

Erica is currently working under supervision to gain her LCSW in Georgia.
